Humanitarian Technology: Science, Systems and Global Impact 2016 will be held at the Revere Hotel Boston Common. The Revere Hotel Boston Common is situated across from Boston Common and Public Gardens, the country’s first public park and botanical garden, and directly across the Charles River is the MIT campus.

The Boston/Cambridge area is defined by the distinctive experiences available around every corner, enhanced by the presence of elite research universities. Elegant architecture, thrilling sporting events, open green spaces, bustling streets of shops and cafes and a brilliant waterfront provide ample opportunity to explore the area’s rich past, present and future. The locale is a cultural capital of the US including world-renowned music ensembles like The Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Handel and Haydn Society, in addition to hundreds of museums, such as the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Science and the Children’s Museum.

The excellent academic environment existing in Boston/Cambridge creates an ideal setting for this technical conference, with the Revere Hotel being centered directly across the MIT campus. There are over 50 institutions of higher education in the Greater Boston Area, including some of the most prestigious American universities including Boston University, Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Northeastern University, and Tufts University. The fairly easy commute from many American and European cities positions Boston as an ideal host city for the HumTech international participants.

Social Program

A dynamic social program will take advantage of our Cambridge/Boston location, and will testify to Boston being “America’s most historic and storied city” offering legendary cultural and historical attractions. We expect to organize trips to explore the emerging “crisis response research” community in the Greater Boston Area, including tours of research labs at MIT and Harvard.

If traveling by air, plan your flights to Boston Logan International Airport. Boston Logan International Airport offers non-stop service to 30 international destinations, including direct flights to Amsterdam, Dublin, Frankfurt, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Munich, Paris, Rome, and Zurich.

The airport is an easy commute using public transportation.
