The excellent academic environment existing in Cambridge/Boston creates an ideal setting for this technical conference. There are over 50 institutions of higher education in the Greater Boston Area, including some of the most prestigious American universities including Boston University, Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Northeastern University, and Tufts University. Moreover, the fairly easy commute from many American and European cities further positions Boston as an ideal host city for our international conference.
A dynamic social program will take advantage of our Cambridge/Boston location, and will testify to Boston being “America’s most historic and storied city” offering legendary cultural and historical attractions. We expect to organize half- day trips to explore the emerging “crisis response research” community in the Greater Boston Area, including tours of local operational centers and research labs at MIT and Harvard.
